Maybe there is a God

As much as I was a whiney pussy, which was deserved, we have been blessed with a very good summer league and today was absolutely no different. It’s amazing how many guys out of the clouds are just setting themselves apart. Trevon Blueitt has got to be given a shot to do it at the next level. He comes in, and in short minutes and in times when momentum is off he comes in and immediately turns tides by forcing the ball through the basket. In all honesty it’s nuts land to me that New Orleans lost because they had Nickeil Alexander who was really proving himself to be a problem on either end of the floor. How you steal the ball twice under the last two minutes and don’t close out the game is an all time melt down. The back and forth both teams jockeying for position is exactly why you watch basketball, it coming in July is is just being good basketball fans and making sure we get out bed side prayers in every night.

Listen it’s great Jarett Allen could walk off the floor and he looks healthy, but it’s incredible karma for the nets that he goes down and looks so incredibly pissed off while laying on the floor. If I were him I can’t imagine how upsetting it must be to get hurt playing competitive basketball in July. Especially when you’re playing for your team to win at most like 30k. I mean it’s sad at the end of the day, the nets probably couldn’t have had anymore NBA experience on their summer league team or they would have been fined and they were ran off the floor by Naz Reid and Barry Brown jr. which both of these guys are official, play incredible basketball and are shining cases of I can’t believe Evan Fournier has a contract and these phenomenal athletes do not.

Summer time sadness

Too many good basketball players exist in this world to give guys a shot who have already had a good look in the NBA. The summer league should be a display of fresh faces not seen in the G-league or NBA. To have guys out on the floor who have played 80 games(Brooklyn) is an absolute slap in the face to not only guys not quite given their shot at the NBA yet, but to the player themselves. Of course Jarret Allen should go out and kill guys who have no experience at playing at that next level, at this point I’d be more worried about him getting hurt then him going out there and not looking ready to get after it. The one time he played someone with a little NBA burn (Amille Jefferson) the two really just put on a scoring display and let it feel as if now they both knew it was an exhibition and not time to demolish the other.

It almost seems as if there is some new pride that has arisen around the summer league and if you’re the team to hold the trophy up you must be given some organizational advantage that is kept secret from everyone else. A lot of teams have been coming in with some fairly experienced guys coming to play for their team and giving them significant minutes. Even the G-leaguers to me have a whole season to perform and show their worth, these short minutes given out in the summer to me isn’t a time where they should be going out and putting on a show yet again. That’s what the development league is for, how many times do we need to see them play? This time is meant for people who haven’t quite had their shot to go out and get an opportunity to be the best of their class. Now we have guys who have already been passed on multiple times going out and giving it another go, and when they look good then it makes it seem like maybe the whole crop is bad. It stinks when you have some teams ready to give fresh faces a look, then you have a team trying to get everyone from their deep bench to their g league a contract and you just can’t get a feel for either side. As much as basketball is great just playing these games straight up for a score really isn’t doing anyone any good.

Everyone deserves an intro

To the Lady and possible couple of gentlemen that see this in 2019, I wanna start with a thank you for whatever contribution you’re played in my writing career. For those of you coming back and digging up my original pieces from in the future, I’ll have a comment then about how I feel. To the point though for any of this, the twitter account, the blog, even this individual post; I am an incredibly passionate sports fan, and frankly a bored individual with a lot of thoughts that don’t correlate with each other and a lot of the time need expounded on past the point where any friend wants to listen to me talk. Although I do come across things in every game or match that I’ll watch, mainly my passion stems from the Orlando Magic as I’ve been a huge NBA fan since I was in middle school and have recently moved to central Florida and have been ready to bunker down with a franchise. Just recently adding to my list though is the premier league and Aston Villa. I’m trying to grow as a person (mainly sports fan) so I’m broadening my horizons and diving in with the love for Aston Villa.

Since the NBA has been a big part of what I used to pass my time for last 10+ years more of my thoughts and time is dedicated to. I’m only going to write from my brain, I’m not persuaded by outside sources and honestly I’m so painstakingly wrapped up in my own thoughts that I don’t even care to listen to many other sources. At the end of the day, writing whether anyone reads it or not is going to be something I do ultimately for me. The money I’ll save from not seeing a therapist after getting all these collected mind rattlers out of my brain and into the universe will be payment enough from me spending countless hours of my time pounding out words 99% of the worlds population isn’t going to care anything about.

TLDR: At the end of the day I don’t want to pay someone to listen to me, so a dedicated blog and twitter account where people can choose or not whether they want to hear me rant about TRADING EVAN FOURNIER away.
