For those of you who may not be living in central Florida, you may not really be quite in the know of what’s been going on. Last night earthquakes from the Middle East that you’ve been hearing about made their way to Orlando when the the Magic played the wizards and the MAGIC WALKED THEM FOOLS. That is exactly how I need the magic to take care of all the teams who are worse then them. Shot a nice cool 50%, shared the rock well, and even guys who weren’t scoring the ball well like Markelle seemed to really be involved in other ways. Vucci is kind of coming back into his scoring ways we saw last year too, quick and efficient and that’s a guys production that if it comes back would be a real nice back bone to turn everything around on. Honestly at the end of the night, I was just happy there was a game where both offense and defense were played by the magic, It’s a beautiful thing let me tell you.
Keep that motor running team, owners WAKE UP
So the Orlando Magic are taking care of business as usual, but are now working with a top 5 defense. Haven’t had a ball drop in a couple of games now, just continually allow the owners to drop the ball right on top of our heads. But last night Vucci literally had Rodman controlling him. This man was going nuts and was seeing where every ball was headed off the rim. Bamba was roaming around the rim as well making it tough on the interior which is exactly what the magic needs. The big boys getting busy just means that there is going to be a lot more space around the perimeter which anyone on the team could use at this point because it feels like no one can get space. At this point I don’t hate how mucked up some of these games get, because Orlando can thrive in the chaos. But coming into the season I though we had guys who could just cash out when they needed and it isn’t the case, the Magic are going to need someone as time goes on who they can trust or eventually you just wanted have enough spark. It’s a grueling road to get to the championship and it could take every piece you have on the bench going out and making something happen to be honest, the magic just don’t have enough pieces that can spread the load wide enough.
Last nights token cashed
Tonight just shows how much of an impact JI makes. Our wing defense was just nothing but attacked all night from the pick and roll quite often actually and it was just walked around the building all night. The screener would just shadow the ball and often neither magic defender had no idea where they wanted to be. Don Mitchell though always makes a basketball game that I’m watching fun, and I could easily thank him for that again. Overall the way it looks and the way it sounds, we may be looking more for 2021 before we start trying to be the next tier of contender. I wish I could just get my slap in the face now and not have to wait until the end of the season. It’s sad what keeps getting put out on the floor every night and it just literally never changes.
That’s how you make your fans feel good
The magic bench actually came in and made a huge impact against a good team. Now it helps a lot when you are so smothering you go ahead and force a team to shoot 18% from the three point line. I have to tell you, when I type that about the magic doing it to someone, it feels really special, I can imagine teams really enjoy it when the magic come to town and do something similar. It feels good to have a rotation of solid minutes where the bigs looks to draw attention inside and be a menace, rather than looking to find the wide open space they are happily given on the perimeter. Ag last night too was getting down hill and active and I tell you what, I will always root for those legs when they are moving, that man has magic in his calf’s and he could be leaving all sorts of dead bodies in his path as he works through the schedule, and I believe AG is getting more and more comfy and it’s going to be more and more popular that he does something crazy.

I always put my hand up when it’s time.
At this point it’s time for me to go ahead and swallow some crow. Fournier has become a fairly consistent threat SCORING. He doesn’t create for anyone but his scoring has improved incredibly and his willingness to attack more is there for sure still really stinks at defense, and like I said him creating for others doesn’t exist. But he is shooting a lot better off the pull up, and whatever else. I’ve still been tweeting for months to get this guy traded and frankly my thumbs are getting tired and will tired until it is done. If we are going to be good defensively I would like everyone to be good defensively not just carried by a small group. It just doesn’t look right and I’m tired of being treated like second class by the magic owners. We need to be all in, and we need results.
Big casualty tonight
John Isaac taming a fall tonight is absolutely a stain on the night of a win. It absolutely is something that looked so incredibly horrible, I hope the hyperextension diagnoses is real as it may be something that isn’t horribly debilitating, but honestly when that euro first happened and he went down I expected that was the rest of this season and half of the next so at this point we are going to see. Isaac has been having a monster defensive year it’s something that you can’t thank him for enough, and the magic really can’t handle negatives as it is, losing their starting stud forward will really kill.
If you have a heart, it’s hurting.
Remember that Trae young fella who went for 40 on us last time and made the night not so fun for magic fans? Guess who didn’t play last night when the hawks came to town last night, and GUESS HOW LITTLE OF A DIFFERENCE IT MADE. Two guys off the bench came in, with fairly limited roles and gave the magic 20. The oldest guy who started yesterday was 22, the guy who did a lot of it down the stretch was 21. And not a single soul could find an answer for the team that is THE bottom feeder. The magic forced 20 turnovers, had 9 of their own and didn’t stand a chance down the stretch. This is the same team everyone has just been saying to “wait on” too and honestly at this point it’s just pathetic. At the end of the day, this might be just the push I need to come out and make this as an nba blog. The league is too loaded this year to waste my time on a team that hasn’t tried getting better in pretty much a full calendar year.
From Christmas to reality a 24 hour story
Honestly at this point the magic should really be enough to amaze you in many ways. One of the few teams in the league that has a glaring issue that will really take someone out of a game, and they make no adjustments. Then they beat a full strength great opponent in the sixers, to turn around to the bucks and just drop it with Giannis in street clothes. The dude with 30 percent of their touches and whole lot of attention that the defense has to give is on the side line, and the magic couldn’t have shit the bed anymore than they did. Just really had no consistency in scoring the ball (not new), but last night was different in that for a lot of the game the magic honestly couldn’t hardly defend if their lives depended on it. Keeping people in front was a tall task last night and giving up the penetration is ultimately what did the magic in. I honestly am hating how much I love basketball because this magic season has been so frustrating and has pushed me away more than girl ever has, the one issue is i can never give basketball it’s space, I have got to be attached at the hip.
Unwrapping last night just felt weird
I never would have guessed that the magic went Christmas shopping. Especially going out to beat the team that just whomped on the best team in the east. It’s honestly incredible, finally a game against a good team where we are able to both really disrupt an offense and the magic are able to make the game dirty enough to really give themselves a chance. Now listen, it isn’t all sweet, vucci really looked like he could hardly guard for stretches of that game and that is troublesome. With no anchor its so hard to dominate teams in 7 games. I don’t know if he’s loafing and that’s why he looks like that, but at this point if the magic are going to win like this they need all 5 pieces to be solid and all locked in. I’m really impressed with the Magic’s ability to play a team who’s bigger and deal with it, as much as I’m still ready to blow this team up last night sure really did feel good.
Dish being blacked out with the fox sports channel down here by the way is the most frustrating thing I’ve dealt with. I mean magic fans are getting screwed 10 different ways and twice on Sunday’s and I tell you the Phoenix that will rise from these ashes is going to be magnificent.
