Look now I could rant and rant and rant on how bad this offense is. I could just sit here and lose my mind over how many turnovers and missed shots the magic consistently come away with. But honestly a huge problem with this team is how poorly they are able to guard the pick and roll, and honestly down the stretch this team always deflates faster than the ego after a bad loss to the suns. The pick and roll is constantly being expected to be moving down bill and is never hedged properly so 9/10 times when we go under the screen it’s immediately just taken care of. What’s honestly crazy is there is a guy sitting on the sidelines at every game whether home or away and this dipshit hasn’t come up with one thing the magic could do better at in real time and made an adjustment. This idiot thinks he can gameplay thirty minutes before the game and he thinks that’s going to be enough information to go ahead and take the win, instead of trying to process what’s going on and trying to adjust to what’s happening around him, this fool just literally rides the same wave he tried to create in the first quarter instead of trying to keep with the motion of the ocean and it’s apparent how behind he is when he’s in the coaches box.
Causin Texas sized trouble
Now I am more than happy to be corrected and own up to it for any false claims I make here in this blog. If you people haven’t noticed though, the Dallas Mavericks really have something special going on. They gave up 47 points to one guy, and still were able to weather the storm. The team brewing in Dallas really is something special because of how efficient the offense is. They have a lot of points of attack in this offense and making sure every body in the offense is patient really allows for all this success. They give time to people who have the ball and they understand floor spacing as well as any team in the league. All while riding this 20 year old phenom who now has even looked like he might need a second half off last night, with the hard fall he took going into the half, but this dude came out and lead a team to holding off such a scoring onslaught. It’s truly incredible.
I can play my role, where’s the bench?
For a team that is statistically ranked so high in defense and has been getting all this praise, it’s amazing how they don’t have a big who can actually properly guard a pick and roll. Vucci obviously hardly knows positioning which hurts pretty bad, but what’s worse is the man gets lazy and slow if he’s not touching the ball and half the time he’s just a step late on defense simply because he was late in deciding how he wanted to help his man being screened because he doesn’t communicate. Last night the magic had so many lobs thrown on them last night and literally one of them was defensed and stopped properly. Noel was putting on a clinic for what it meant to have soft hands. Then not to mention we gave up 30 to the guy who got carried a lot by our own Evan Fournier over the summer. When you can’t guard the lobs and you can’t guard the 15 foot jumpers off the screens, you will honestly really probably only beat no one. Which the way the magic have played in a lot of these games that’s exactly who they have deserved to beat. It’s honestly pathetic at this point, and if we aren’t looking to part ways with Clifford or shake up this roster at this point, then honestly I’m ready to strap into 4 more years of complaining like a whiney hoe who just lost his girlfriend on the internet, at this point I’m getting better and better and playing the role.
Now everyone grab hold and LETS WORK
This magic team tonight did something that I hope and pray will rub off on the whole organization. They grabbed the bull by the horns, until they could grab its nuts, and finish the deal. I need the front office to start sticking their necks out there and shaft making sure that this team starts moving in a direction that’s going to make them a contender. This back and forth inconsistent defense that never has an offense is something that isn’t the most heart warming set of strengths to root for and change is welcomed with open arms. That’s why I need these guys up stairs to start getting cutthroat, to start looking for the sharpest deals they can find and to be working around the clock to do it. I can tell you it’s all I’m thinking about in my free time, and a lot of the time when it’s not even free. It’s just to the point where it’s put up or shut up, and I am hoping we don’t decide to go down the road of the sticking with mediocrity to get through one more year. It’s just hard having any pride and rooting for a team who does that. But like I said, the magic are starting to turn that attitude tide and everyone is hopping on I hope including those dick heads who we call decision makers who only make 2 a year. But, that’s here nor there on the night of a great win. These are the nights babies are made and cars are flipped over in the streets.
The tide I’ve been on the watch for is finally here
Ladies and gentlemen who root for the Orlando magic, a very good thing for the organization has happened tonight and honestly things are looking up. It may not seem tangible now, but 6 months ago I think I was the only one screaming for Fournier to be dumped off this team, and now finally the tides are turning. Collectively all of the magic fans are starting to get tired of this defensive black hole who can suck life out of the offense all the same. People when a crowd starts rolling sounds move across ears and actions get put into movement. Now does it still all sting the same that I root for a team who’s fan base can’t see negatives until they’ve been slapped in the face by them for almost a full two seasons, sure it does sting, but guess what? I understand everyone can grow and get better together, except for this Orlando Magic team because they couldn’t even consistently charge their phones every night at this point, let alone come and play a high level of basketball consistently. And that’s okay, they should just be suffering in Detroit, or somewhere else freezing miserable, not soaking up beautiful Orlando. It should be a destination stop for good players, and instead it’s embarrassing.
Are we going to be Phoniers or are we gonna address the situation
Honestly after tonight, after all of us get through our back to back road trip killer, we need to objectively look back and try and figure out some of the issues that may have showed themselves from Wednesday to Thursday. There are a couple of ways to do that, you can do the eye test or you can look at stats. Well If we go off what we were seeing out there tonight, Fournier sure did a good job of jamming up offensive possesions with his need to always atleast look at the basket as the ball moves through the offensive progressions. Then when it comes to defense you can see effort being put in, but when it’s literally all exerted in just staying in front, and that’s a struggle, then I mean shit, I guess we might as well make the participation trophy now if that’s what we want to be happy about. Now if we look at stats we have again Fournier, with the lowest +\- on the team, but on the positive side he did come away with 0 turnovers. It’s nice for him to do something you want a starting guard to do. And let me get this straight, I don’t hate the guy, his twitter presence is hilarious, especially the stuff he puts in French, I just think with how much of an offensive wrench he can he sometimes, and no help on defense it’s bull shit he gets to live in such a beautiful place as Orlando, his inconsistent ass should be sitting in Detroit or New York, not Brooklyn, New York.
I know it was super late and hard but last night I bet opened eyes
There is a little bird roaming a central Florida with the name Markelle and I want it on record that if anyone wants to harm, trade, or bother that bird, I personally am going to rectify the situation. The man has been doing nothing but developing since the magic started giving him his time and last night is the ultimate representation. I tell you what too, and I’m not one to pray on injuries, but last night with Fournier the offense looked about as consistent and fluent as it could for this team and we were missing someone who’s been there when we couldn’t get buckets. But maybe we couldn’t get buckets because of said person, what if his ability to catch the ball in a rotation and slow it down by attempting to attack his defender, get stuffed, and then continue the rotation is probably next to none. When you root for the team who scores less than anyone else, seeing the offense fly out of funks honestly just really always gets your attention. I hate being so vain about it, but last night gave us a shinning example of why the trade blocks need to be pounded harder than when ZBO used to go to work in the post.
Will we be found?
I mean people, let’s just be honest at this point, if the Kings weren’t super poorly coached we probably do not squeak out of there with a win. Fournier jump pass with hardly anytime to AG I know is exactly how Clifford drew us up winning, which is exactly how you want your coach to win the battle of X’s and O’s, but honestly I know I am a broken record but this team is dog shit. And aren’t taking steps towards even getting picked up and put in a bag, we are just dog shit that’s rotting into the earth 24 paces off the sidewalk so no one will find it. I mean another 30% night from the three point line which is horrendous, and the starting 1 and 2 aren’t positive in the plus minus at the end of the night. The two guard who was blessed with free throws on a night where he couldn’t find a slot machine in Vegas with the he was shooting the ball from deep. This team does make things exciting to watch if you have no rooting interest or your pride at stake, but the Magic sure do know how to tarnish a good persons reputation.
Envy jealousy and greed
Ja Morant couldn’t be any more fascinating to watch than what he is. He is such a strong presence with the ball, and every night you’re seeing as he is just slowly building up confidence. This guy is absolutely locked in every night and it’s amazing how much better he makes his teammates. His vision isn’t just incredibly strong when it comes to finding his teammates either, the guy can see the ball go up and do a pretty good job of tracking the rebound to be honest. At this point there is no doubt in my mind he is about to become a certified scorer just off the fact he smoothly does everything else the scoring will just transition with the smooth jumper he has. What’s incredible about his story too is he has some fantastic vets around him, in JoVal and Jae. To me Memphis is the team to watch night to night simply based off the fact it doesn’t matter what’s on the score board this dude is going at someone until there isn’t tome because he understands how crucial the reps are.
5:38 am in Polk county…
A good beautiful basketball game is one like you had last night in Phoenix where the 4th quarter was the ultimate deciding factor and there was no doubt about it. Now as far as being a fan in one of those guys, you generally walk away from those games more frustrated than any other game. Especially last night when your team kind of just got man handled down the stretch. But, irrelevant, just a gut talking sports. The one thing that has been killing me, will kill me, and will force me to picket out side Amway is how many dumbass threes this team shoots from game to game. And it’s almost as if that soft inside play transfers to the other end of the floor because the magic gave up 5 more offensive boards than they got on the night. Honestly, this loss was shocking too because the suns have been skidding and the magic have been making a turn around the corner. This just shows how off the roster is and how hard it is to get pieces who want to do the same thing to come together every night.
