I’ll drown if I have to

If I do not find myself out of this boat the magic have put me in soon I am going to go mentally insane. The fact Mamba is rotting while the injury report takes multiple sit downs to read is absolutely insane. The Magic are already getting lumped as it is, why is it with these guys who it feels like we huge seen a lot of the pieces of their ceiling? At this point the possibilities of all the places the magic could go from here is going to be more exciting than what actually happens, which is asshole. All in all though, the league has been on fire this year and it was just much needed.

If I do not find myself out of this boat the magic have put me in soon I am going to go mentally insane. Nothing like wasting possible opportunity

Last night a couple of glaring things happened that just really upsets me. One the Magic really struggled with consistency issues last night and they weren’t able to find any rhythm or flow whatsoever when it came to sets and actually finding themselves good shots. They also played a lot of chase defense on Luka and it left a lot of holes in the floor ultimately leading to them achieving hardly any consecutive stops in a row. The mavericks shot almost 65% in the first quarter that alone tells you the Magic could very well be in for a long night ahead. The other thing last night that went on that I will never understand and I hope to god I can stop worrying about it soon enough, is the fact that Bamba is not on the IR and he didn’t play again. I am not sure exactly why there would ever be a reason to hold him out especially with the intangibles bur at this point they really are allowing Clifford to do whatever he wants for the better or the worse of the future. The magic are in such a weird spot, and sadly they did nothing whatsoever to help themselves out of it, even though it was the same spot they were in last year and they knew it. It just doesn’t matter what the score is in the game until there is no clock left to run, and sadly I am just not sure if the Magic or the fans know that sometimes.

It may suck, but it shouldn’t completely

What happened last night is sadly something I am not sure the magic are going to be able to run too far from. Especially with the injury bug the magic are fighting its hard to foresee this time for development as getting much better. But what makes me happy is it gives a great opportunity for these young guys to go take their lumps and earn their thick skin. Hopefully this is very valuable tome that can be looked back on in a couple of years when we have a very great younger core who’s been through the hard ships together and who are terrorizing the league. As much as it may be hard right now to deal with what the magic are going through, assuming it’s utilized correctly, so much valuable information and invaluable experience is going to be coming the Magic way. You only dream of being able to create these kinds of learning situations for people usually, the magic have a good season of it ahead.

The bigger fish have been frying

Yes the Magic were able to barely pull out a win against a team they just beat by 20 points. Yes I could get upset about certain things that happened on the floor I am sure, but at this point I am much more concerned with the amount of injuries the magic are starting to have. With Fultz going down with a knee last night that puts an already down bad team with two starters out and just goes ahead and takes the one functioning knee it has left. Now am I excited that this is going to be a time where CA can smoothly step in and get a lot of burn that will go greatly towards his development. It’s just horrible when you start a season expecting to have a roster and suddenly it’s your year for everyone to need to be rehabbing and getting right. I wish everyone the best recoveries and I give my prayers in hope that the rest of the team can be protected in some way from this obvious curse.

This isn’t so bad out of the gates

Sometimes you’re just able to praise the effort the team your root for gives. They did a great job of defending in the second half and didn’t bail them out with fouls. They scored well in spurts to create huge runs over the cavs and honestly everyone just looked like they had a great deal of confidence. Tonight was something that especially for a hurt team, shows the magic know how to show up and take care of business. Doesn’t seem like they are messing as much this year as all game the magic did a wonderful job of looking for and finding things in space. It’s going to be important for this type of smart shot taking to exist all year in order for real success but with the glimpses shown I have some real hope.

Time for questions to be answered

Listen I will not sit here and harp on a whole lot as the fact that half the roster has to come out from the team doctor to sit the bench all game with an injury is something that just happens sometimes in sports I guess. Where I am going rightfully get pissed off is right here with clifford. The fact that he isn’t giving Bomba room to work either means he’s also hurt and they aren’t telling us, or Clifford is being a fucking fool right now. Why would we not commit to someone with the potential that Mo has and the hustle he plays with? He works on both ends and is fairly successful on defense. At least when it comes to guarding his position. It’s down right crazy, now listen I’m sorry if something is wrong with him and no one is saying anything. But as it stands right now getting healthy scratches is the worst decision that could possibly be made. You can’t teach the body he has, and he’s fairly good at using it. It’s time to let the damn thing breathe.

Bounce back like the ball does

Well now that we are officially here and the Magic’s inability to speak with each other like a broken relationship on defense cost them their status of being the only team left without a loss. The rotations were so horribly slow and guys seemed so lost that Seth curry went for a real efficient real smooth 21. At the end of the day, there is absolutely 0 excuse for the horrible shooting numbers from guys. This happens with no rhythm or collusion what so ever, a lot of standing and 1 on 1s. The magic have the potential to be a very strong unit. They have solid pieces for everything all around the floor, some of the pieces don’t play and that’s another story for another day, but the potential is around there for everyone to play a role and to give teams a problem. It’s just never going to show it’s self if the Magic never figure out what team defense is. It starts with the coach yes, but also at some point you have to realize that giving up baseline and letting drives to the middle not be turned are a huge problem no matter who you are on the floor. Little things can be fixed by anyone, but when you’re winning I get it, some may say it’s irrelevant. But like Brady was talking about, who the hell cares about winning in the regular season?

At some point enjoyment is deserved

Waking up this morning and being someone who talks about the Magic I am of course very excited for the fact that the Magic started the season 4-0. Obviously the historic start has me incredibly tickled and if winning basketball continues to happen you will have me be nothing but happy. Although I am a person who worries about things that are showing their heads such as inconsistencies that are astronomical, and what seems to be just horrid communication especially on the defensive end. Like I stated before though, if winning continues to happen, you won’t find a guy who is happier than me currently when it comes to their basketball team. I just hope that it isn’t a weird offensive scheme that leads to the offensive inconsistencies. Again, I am pumped. I am also just left with such confusion as to where the hell Mo Bomba is? I am obviously incredibly out of the loop and there is a chance that the explanation comes off as perfectly reasonable, but still, it is making no sense to me at this point as someone who is only getting to tune into the games and not be locked into much else. As time moves on though, I am excited to see so many young pieces with so much confidence. It has made the viewing experience for me as a fan so much more enjoyable and has shown me many times how easily it is to get sucked in to a winning basketball team. Even with their struggles the wins just seem to blanket cover everything.

Spoiler:6moy

Last night was a hard to digest masterpiece from the magic that really I guess opened my eyes to believing you may only have to play hard for like two and a half quarters of basketball to win in the NBA. The 41-19 4th quarter scoring is astonishing to see but honestly there are still so many problems with the way guys are managed through out games. Especially in times when playing well and randomly being pulled. I understand it’s a long road but winning games now can be just as important as winning in April. TRoss once again though ran with the torch for the magic and was enough to be able to pull it out. TRoss showed so much in his time in a magic uniform, but this time he’s on now and how he’s working, is easily the most impressive portion, and he better be in Orlando for his career.
